Al is an orthopaedic surgeon who sub-specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in bioengineering, finished medical school and orthopaedic residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, and completed a fellowship at Southwestern Medical School. Early in his training, he engaged in research and co-authored several medical publications. In addition to running a busy surgical practice, Dr. Cuellar has participated in numerous medical engineering projects and has consulted for medical device companies including Minnesota Scientific, Zimmer-Biomet, and multiple divisions of Stryker Corporation, including Stryker Orthopaedics, Stryker Leibinger, and Stryker Immerging Medical Technologies. He performed a 14-year economic study on private-practice orthopaedics, which was recognized as best-in-show at the 2013 American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery Annual Meeting. He has been involved in instrument and implant design, computer-assisted surgery development, and orthopaedic robotics.

In addition, he oversees his medical group’s information systems. His software development portfolio includes creation of a three-dimensional measurement tool based on roentgen stereo photogrammetry; creating and managing research database systems; building practice-scheduling solutions; building an electronic health record user interface; and creating medical workflow enhancements.

His cloud-based clinical operations management prototype serves as the blueprint for Efferent Health developers.




Kress has spent his career developing and expanding businesses and professional staff for major medical systems companies and medical informatics technology companies, including GE Medical, Philips Healthcare, 3M Medical, and StorageTek (Oracle). Kress

is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. Upon graduating, Kress was employed by GE Medical Systems as an engineer. During this time, he earned his MBA and moved to the business group. His experiences include roles in product development, marketing, sales, and executive management. Kress then moved into sales management and market development roles with Kodak and StorageTek (Oracle). In 2000, he co-founded Medstrat, the first orthopaedic imaging company and grew the business to an installed base of over 100 customers. In 2005, he founded FusionOne, a digital image storage and retrieval software company. He guided FusionOne’s merger with Ultralinq and later managed the acquisition of Ultralinq and FusionOne

by Renew.




Jaime is a computer electronics professional with postgraduate education in industrial innovation management. He is a software developer and software architect with nearly 30 years of experience. He previously worked on defense projects for 10 years prior to moving to the healthcare IT industry in 2008. Since then, Jaime has worked on several international projects in US, Europe, and Australia, including two years at Philips Healthcare Informatics as Team Leader for a test automation program. Currently, he leads the Efferent Health engineering department and is responsible for the development of the Efferent Healthcare Platform and several derivative products. Using solid engineering tools based on the Microsoft technology stack, he has a proven track record of successful delivery as a developer and leader. He has nurtured his relationship with the health industry by attending several medical events (RSNA, AAOS, and FHIR) since 2010, collaborating within the field, and publishing several articles and open source code.




Brent graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Over the first 25 years of his career, Brent held a number of sales and marketing positions within the orthopaedic and ENT medical imaging industry. Brent served as Director of Marketing for Medstrat, where he developed, coordinated and implemented strategic sales and marketing programs introducing

office-based digital imaging to the orthopaedic market. Brent was also been employed by Valera Pharmaceuticals, where he led a specialty sales region of 12 sales professionals focused on promoting Vantas, a once-yearly implant, treating prostate cancer. In 2007, he joined FusionOne leading the Sales & Marketing team until joining Efferent Health in July 2019. Brent is a key member of the

Efferent Health executive team responsible for all aspects of sales & marketing, including the expansion of our sales team through strategic channel partnerships.
